The purpose of the Jefferson County Audit Committee is to assist the county in its evaluation of internal controls, reporting practices and audit findings.
The mission of the Jefferson County Audit Committee is to be a resource to the Board of County Commissioners and administration for ensuring transparent and accountable government to taxpayers by providing independent, objective audit and advisory services to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

The Finance and Information Technology Department provides staff resources to support the Audit Committee.
