Responsibilities of Members
- Attend and actively participate in monthly meetings and do assignments.
- Offer to take on assignments as appropriate including taking the lead on a sub-committee(s).
- Recruit people to participate on sub-committees.
- Support the group process or make suggestions openly to the members for improving it.
- Bring knowledge and skills to the table for the betterment of the community.
- Commit to helping create a positive experience and process.
- Actively support the future implementation of values, goals and objectives identified through this strategic planning process.
- Make a commitment to share information about this project with others including in newsletters and other written material.
- Represent an organization or point of view while simultaneously viewing services to seniors on a systems-level.
- Commit to serve at least 1 year on this committee.
Characteristics of Members
- Comfortable being a visionary leader.
- Enthusiastic about the need for planning for an aging community.
- Open-minded and willing to listen to and tolerate differences of opinion and attitudes.
- Able to view planning from short, medium and long-term perspectives
- Can review various data and reports and understand whether conclusions are valid.
- Can review materials relatively rapidly and note concerns or input.
- Comfortable directly expressing one?s own ideas and feelings in a group setting.
