This General Records Retention Schedule lists records commonly originated and maintained by most Jefferson County agencies. It may be used by the following Jefferson County agencies, with the exception of specific exclusions noted within the schedule:
- Assessor
- Board of County Commissioners
- Clerk and Recorder
- Coroner
- County Administrator and Departments and Divisions under the County Administrator
- County Attorney
- District Attorney, First Judicial District
- Health and Environment Department
- Jefferson County Airport
- Jefferson County Public Library
- Public Trustee
- Sheriff
- Treasurer
Records not listed on this Schedule are covered by other Records Retention Schedules prepared for specific agencies. If a record series is listed on both the General Records Retention Schedule and on an agency's Records Retention Schedule, the retention period on the agency's schedule takes precedence.
