  • About the Jefferson County Board of Commissioners

     

    As mandated by the state constitution, Jefferson County is governed by a three-member Board of County Commissioners. Despite having to live in a specific geographic region, the commissioners are elected at-large to four-year, staggered terms and represent the entire county.

    The board provides leadership and vision in guiding Jefferson County government and is responsible for overseeing the organization and budgets for a wide variety of county programs designed to benefit citizens. 

    Libby Szabo, Jefferson County Commissioner, District One

    Libby Szabo was appointed to serve as the Jefferson County Commissioner (District One) and was sworn in on January 30, 2015. She currently serves as the chair pro tem for the Jefferson County Board of Commissioners and the Jefferson County Law Enforcement Authority Board.  Read more

    Casey Tighe, Jefferson County Commissioner, District Two

    Casey Tighe was elected Jefferson County Commissioner (District Two) in November 2012 and was sworn in on January 8, 2013. He currently serves as chair for the Jefferson County Board of Commissioners and the Jefferson County Law Enforcement Authority Board. Read more

    Donald Rosier, Jefferson County Commissioner, District Three

    Donald Rosier was elected Jefferson County Commissioner (District Three) in November 2010 and was sworn in on January 11, 2011. He was reelected in November 2014 and sworn in to serve a second term on January 13, 2015. He served as chair of the board in 2012 and 2013 and also as chair of the LEA during those years. Read more
