Boards & Commissions: Audit Committee

Number of openings: 0

Duties:
Selects the independent auditor for the financial statement audit, monitors the progress and evaluates the results of the financial statement audit, monitors the internal control structure on an ongoing basis (especially the internal audit function) and ensures that control weaknesses and legal compliance violations identified in the course of the audits are promptly and effectively remedied.

Required or suggested qualifications:
Members must be Jefferson County residents.  Appointments are to be made so that no business or professional group constitutes a majority of the board.

Meetings:
Meets 4 times annually at 100 Jefferson County Parkway, Golden

Number of persons and length of terms:
Two (2) citizen members, two (2) elected officials
