One tool the Jeffco Board of County Commissioners is using to provide information to citizens is telephone town halls. This popular way to reach out to citizens has helped the commissioners get in touch with thousands of citizens in just an hour each time. It allows citizens to listen, ask questions or answer polling questions without leaving home. It has been successful in gaining important feedback from Jeffco residents.
The commissioners hosted a telephone town hall and discussed several topics including the approved 2016 budget; transportation and the latest updates on the WestConnect project; and the slash program and results from the first year of the expanded program. Calls were palced to 50,000 randomly selected phone numbers in unincorporated Jeffco.

As the annual preparation of the county budget began in the fall of 2012, the commissioners were looking for feedback from residents. They used innovative telephone town hall technology on Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2012, from 7 to 8 p.m. to reach 50,000 Jeffco households. You can view the 2012 town hall meeting report , which shows how 7,038 attendees stayed on the line for an average of 10 minutes each or listen to the audio recording .
