The Community Development Advisory Board makes recommendations to the Jefferson County Board of County Commissioners regarding matters related to community development, housing and economic development for low and moderate income residents. It also recommends recipients for federal funds made available to Jefferson County from Community Development Block Grants, HOME Investment Partnerships Program, and similar grants. The board serves as the liaison for the Board of County Commissioners to the Jefferson County community on issues related to community development.
Represents the interests of different segments of the community, including but not limited to, low income citizens and neighborhoods, business, industry, economic development, labor, religious, law enforcement, education, or other major groups and interests in the community.
Meetings are held on the second Thursday of each month from 3 - 4:30 p.m.
There are nine members and member's appointment shall be for a period of four years and can serve a maximum of three consecutive terms (12 years).
