Building Permit Fees 2009 Code


Fees for electrical, mechanical, and plumbing work done in conjunction with an active building permit issued on or after June 1, 1995, are included in the building permit fee. For electrical, fuel gas, mechanical, and plumbing work which does not require a building permit, please see the other fee schedule.

Other Inspections and Fees:

* Or the total hourly cost to the jurisdiction, whichever is the greatest.  The cost shall include supervision, overhead, equipment, hourly wages and fringe benefits of the employees involved.

** Actual costs include administrative and overhead costs.

*** $500 shall be refunded if a Certificate of Occupancy is issued prior to the expiration of the Temporary Certificate of Occupancy.

**** R108.3  Building permit valuations. The applicant for a permit shall provide an estimated value of all the work to be performed including mechanical, electrical, and plumbing at time of application.  Final building permit valuation shall be as determined by the building official.  Construction cost valuations may be adjusted accordingly based on recommendations as published in the “Buildings Safety Journal” by the International Code Council.

**** R108.6  Plan review fee.  When submittal documents are required by section 106.1, a plan review fee equal to sixty-five (65) percent of the permit fee shall be charged on all permits. This fee may be required at time of submittal of the documents for plan review.  Plan review fees may be waived by the building official for projects with a valuation of less than $50,000. Projects having received a Stop Work Order, may be charged a plan review fee regardless of valuation.

***** 108.5.1  Plan review fee. When documents are required by Section 106.1, a plan review fee shall be charged on all permits.  This fee may be required at time of submittal of the documents for plan review.  Said plan review fee shall be 65 percent of the building permit fee as shown in Table 1-A.

The plan review fees specified are separate fees from the permit fees specified and are in addition to the permit fees.
