Jefferson County Energy Calculations:
Commercial
Based on Climate Zone 5 per the 2009 International Energy Conservation Code.
All projects will need to meet or exceed the requirements of the 2009 IECC Chapter 5 ASHRAE/IESNA 90.1 or simulated energy performance analysis per the 2009 IECC Section 506. Simulated energy methods per Section 506 will be permitted on the plans with a PE stamp on the drawings.
New Commercial Buildings or Commercial Additions will require (COMcheck) or prescriptive measures of Chapter 5, 2009 IECC for the building thermal envelope, mechanical systems and electrical/lighting.
Tenant Finishes and changes of occupancy will require (COMcheck) for mechanical and interior lighting.
New homes - 4 methods

2. UA Alternative per the 2009 IRC/REScheck
3. Performance per section 404 of the 2009 IECC
4. Professional design
