ICC Contractor Exams
Often, contractors who build in several areas must pass an exam in each jurisdiction. With the successful passage of an ICC Contractor Exam, contractors can be secure in the
knowledge that their results will be honored by the many agencies that participate in the program. Building departments will benefit from such commonality as well, having a solid
foundation upon which to issue licenses to practice.
The examination measures the level of knowledge of building codes and establishes a basis for the issuance of licenses to practice–and results in a test that is acceptable from one jurisdiction to another.
Finally, contractors, building departments and their customers can benefit from the standardization of criteria determining contractor proficiency.
