Grants Available to Improve Mobility and Safety of Homes
Jefferson County Community Development has awarded HUD Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds to Brothers Redevelopment Inc. (BRI) to offer FREE grants up to $5,000 to make in-home mobility and safety improvements to homes located in Golden, Wheat Ridge, Edgewater, Mountain View and Lakeside. Grants are limited to income qualified homeowners residing in the home. Applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. 2013 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program
Jefferson County receives an annual funding allocation from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) through the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program. CDBG funding allows for a variety of activities to assist low and moderate income persons. To learn more about the CDBG program please visit HUD's website:

2013 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and HOME Investment Partnership Program (HOME) Funds Award Recommendations
Following the 2013 CDBG and HOME application process, the Jefferson County Community Development Advisory Board (CDAB) is recommending to the Board of County Commissioners that the following activities and projects be awarded 2013 funds. The Community Development Department is accepting public comment regarding these recommendations. Public comment may be submitted for consideration in writing to the Community Development Division at 100 Jefferson County Parkway, Suite 3530, Golden, CO 80419 no later than 5:00 p.m. on Friday, March 25, 2013. In addition, a public meeting will be held on Thursday, March 14, 2013 from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Jefferson County Courts and Administration Building, 100 Jefferson County Parkway, Golden, CO. Meeting room to be posted in lobby of building.
The 2014 CDBG and HOME funding process will be launched in August 2013.

The Jefferson County Community Development Division is accepting applications for the Community Services Advisory Board and the Community Development Advisory Board.
The Jefferson County Community Services and Community Development Advisory Boards make grant funding recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners regarding the Community Services Block Grant (CSBG), the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and the HOME Investment Partnerships grant. The Boards serve as liaison for the Board of County Commissioners to County residents. The CSBG, CDBG and HOME grants are awarded annually through the Federal Department of Health and Human Services and the Federal Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Members of the Community Services and Community Development Advisory Boards are expected to:

Attend monthly meetings, currently held on the 2nd Tuesday (Services Board) and 2nd Thursday (Development Board) of the month from 3:00 – 4:30 p.m.

Communicate with Community Development staff regarding schedules, conflicts, and attendance availability

Attend additional meetings as needed during grant selection process

Review applications for federal funds and make recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners

Phase II of the Jefferson County Neighborhood Stabilization Program was completed as of March 10, 2013.
Jefferson County Community Development 2010 – 2014 Strategic Plan
Jefferson County Community Development has completed a five-year Strategic Plan as a requirement of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to qualify for the Community Development Block Grant and the HOME Investment Partnerships Program. The Strategic Plan is a comprehensive planning document that identifies the overall housing and community development needs within the Urban County. The Urban County includes the Cities of Edgewater, Golden and Wheat Ridge, the Towns of Lakeside and Mountain View, and Unincorporated Jefferson County.
