Community Services Advisory Board Members

Community Services Advisory Board members are appointed by the Board of County Commissioners for a two-year term.


Learn More About the Board:


Chair - David Kollar, Director, Jefferson County Public Schools Dropout Prevention and Recovery. Mr. Kollar has a strong background in services for at-risk youth in Jefferson County and understands the dynamic relationships between community agencies and the populations served. He has worked with several organizations in Jefferson County, including the Juvenile Assessment Center and Jefferson Center for Mental Health.

Vice Chair - Marilyn Smith, Dean of Instruction, Red Rocks Community College. Ms. Smith has extensive expertise in higher education and working with literacy programs for youth and adults, as well as coordinating resources for community learning. Ms. Smith has also worked with several community agencies, including the Jeffco Action Center.

Members

Christopher Auer, Program Administrator, Mayor's Office for Education and Children. Mr. Auer comes from a background of serving children, particularly the special populations. He has a strong history in grant writing, training and program development.

Paula Corbin, Teacher, Jefferson County Schools (ret.). Ms. Corbin brings a strong background in youth education. She is involved in many community organizations.

Bruce Fritz, Program Manager, Developmental Disabilities Resource Center. Mr. Fritz has a thirty year career in the human service industry, which includes working with abused children, seniors, and people with disabilities. He has served on several advisory boards across the Metro Denver area.

Ron Gallegos, Assistant to VP Colorado University (ret.). Mr. Gallegos brings extensive experience in working with under-served populations and has a strong understanding of the federal guidelines associated with grant programs.

Cheryl Haggstrom, Executive Vice President, Community First Foundation. Ms. Haggstrom has many years of experience in the foundation and non-profit industries and provides expertise in community funding and foundation work.

Mark Techmeyer, Deputy Sheriff/Public Information Officer, Jefferson County Sheriff's Office. Mr. Techmeyer has worked in the jail, as a parole officer and as an investigator during his career at Jefferson County. His knowledge of the challenges faced by this clientele provides a new perspective.

Staff Liaison

Alysse Nemecek, Jefferson County Children, Youth, and Families Division Caseworker Supervisor. Ms. Nemecek has extensive experience in working with at-risk populations and her background in working with families and community partners provides the board with insight during the funding process.
