2012 Community Development Awards
The Jefferson County Community Development Advisory Board (CDAB) has recommended the following activities and projects to receive 2012 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) or 2012 HOME Investment Partnership Program (HOME) funds:

Community Development Block Grant (CDBG)
Metro West Housing Solutions
Funds will be used to rehabilitate an existing, multifamily rental property to provide housing and services to formerly homeless, low and moderate income military veterans and their families in Jefferson County.

Veterans Green Jobs
Funds will be used to support the Jefferson County Weatherization Program providing weatherization improvements to owner-occupied homes of low and moderate income households.

Brothers Redevelopment Inc. (BRI)
Funds will support BRI’s Help for Homes program in Jefferson County. The program facilitates necessary home repairs for low and moderate income homeowners residing in Jefferson County.

Jefferson County Housing Authority (JCHA)
The JCHA Homeowner Housing Rehabilitation Program assists low and moderate income homeowners by providing technical and financial assistance facilitating repairs to owner-occupied homes in Jefferson County.

Jefferson Center for Mental Health (JCMH)
JCMH will use CDBG funds to support the JCMH Homeless Prevention Program providing qualifying individuals with short-term, emergency housing assistance or permanent housing assistance.

The Action Center
Funds will be used to provide qualifying individuals and households with rental assistance and support mediation activities between tenants and landlords.

Seniors Resource Center (SRC)
Funds will support SRC’s Hospital to Home program assisting seniors and severely disabled individuals as they return from hospital care to their homes.

HOME Investment Partnership Program (HOME)
Blue Spruce Habitat for Humanity will be awarded HOME funds to support the construction of two duplexes providing four units of affordable housing in Kittredge.

Neighborhood Stabilization Program – HOMES AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE

Phase II of the Neighborhood Stabilization Program is now underway in Jefferson County and homes are available for purchase through Pillar Properties and Wheat Ridge 2020. These single family residences are located in Arvada, Lakewood and Wheat Ridge and have been completely renovated and updated for safety and efficiency. Homebuyers must meet income qualifications and will be eligible for down payment and closing cost assistance. Jefferson County Community Development 2010 – 2014 Strategic Plan

Jefferson County Community Development has completed a five-year Strategic Plan as a requirement of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to qualify for the Community Development Block Grant and the HOME Investment Partnerships Program. The Strategic Plan is a comprehensive planning document that identifies the overall housing and community development needs within the Urban County.  The Urban County includes the Cities of Edgewater, Golden and Wheat Ridge, the Towns of Lakeside and Mountain View, and Unincorporated Jefferson County.
