2012 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program
Jefferson County receives an annual funding allocation from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) through the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program. CDBG funding allows for a variety of activities to assist low and moderate income persons. To learn more about the CDBG program please visit HUD's website.
The 2012 CDBG application process is closed. The Community Development Advisory Board (CDAB) recently received the following applications and are in the process of reviewing these proposals to determine what funding awards will be recommended to the Jefferson County Board of County Commissioners.

2011 Community Services Block Grant Funded Projects
COLORADO HOMELESS FAMILIES - $41,631 - The purpose and goal of this project is to elevate families with children from the bonds of homelessness and poverty through such causes as personal tragedy, low income, insufficient education and inadequate life skills so that each family can become self-sufficient. Colorado Homeless Families will provide assistance with housing, counseling and other emergency needs with CSBG funds.
FAMILY TREE, INC. - $37,011 - This program will provide low-income individuals and families in Jefferson County with the financial assistance necessary for them to stabilize and maintain their housing. CSBG funds will be utilized to provide emergency assistance to families for housing, food, clothing, etc.
JEFFCO ACTION CENTER - $41, 631 - Jeffco Action Center will provide clients with short-term emergency assistance needed to stabilize crisis situations while also offering linkages and referrals to critical human services agencies to promote stability, self-care and self-sufficiency. CSBG funds will provide rent assistance, bus tokens and food to support and stabilize families.
MOUNTAIN RESOURCE CENTER - $27,755 - This program provides emergency assistance to Jefferson County residents in the mountain community, offering a single point of entry with wrap-around services. Funding from CSBG will help the Mountain Resource Center provide emergency services through its Community Support Services Program, including case management and emergency assistance.
Neighborhood Stabilization Program – HOMES AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE
Phase II of the Neighborhood Stabilization Program is now underway in Jefferson County and homes are available for purchase through Pillar Properties and Wheat Ridge 2020. These single family residences are located in Arvada, Lakewood and Wheat Ridge and have been completely renovated and updated for safety and efficiency. Homebuyers must meet income qualifications and will be eligible for down payment and closing cost assistance. Jefferson County Community Development 2010 – 2014 Strategic Plan
Jefferson County Community Development has completed a five-year Strategic Plan as a requirement of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to qualify for the Community Development Block Grant and the HOME Investment Partnerships Program. The Strategic Plan is a comprehensive planning document that identifies the overall housing and community development needs within the Urban County. The Urban County includes the Cities of Edgewater, Golden and Wheat Ridge, the Towns of Lakeside and Mountain View, and Unincorporated Jefferson County.
