After Submitting Your Application
After submitting my application, what's next?
Once your application has been submitted it will be reviewed to make sure it is complete. A complete application requires the following:
- Every question on the application must be filled out
- Copies of all orders signed by the court
- Copies of birth certificates for all children on the application
- Paternity Affidavit (required unless the father's name is already on the birth certificate)
- Income and Expense Affidavit (required unless a court order already exists)
- Affidavit of Direct Support (required unless past due support is not owed or not wanted)
- $20.00 application fee (required unless receiving Temporary Aide to Needy Families)
Other information that will help expedite the processing of your case:
- Social security cards for all children on the application
- Medical insurance cards
The application process takes approximately 8 - 12 weeks. If any of the required information is not provided your application will be delayed or will be unable to process.
Once your case is entered into our computer system it will be assigned to a Child Support Specialist. The next step will be determined by whether or not you have a child support order. Please choose from the following options for the next step that applies to your situation.
