Commissioner Clement moved that the following Resolution be adopted:
BEFORE THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
OF THE COUNTY OF JEFFERSON
Authorization to negotiate for the relocation and redevelopment of parking area and sale and/or trade of property required for widening of State Highway 285.
WHEREAS, Ken Foelske, Manager of Planning and Development, did present to the Jefferson County Open Space Advisory Committee an Open Space Proposal on December 13, 1990, said proposal being No. OS89-9l; and
WHEREAS, a majority of the Jefferson County Open Space Advisory Committee present personally inspected the Meyers Ranch Park land on field trips, taken individually, prior to January 3, 1991; and
WHEREAS, the Jefferson County Open Space Advisory Committee, during a regularly scheduled meeting on January 3, 1991, by a unanimous vote of ten (10), recommended:
1. That the Board of County Commissions approve negotiations for the relocation and redevelopment of the existing parking area and the sale and/or trade of property required for the widening of State Highway 285 through Meyers Ranch Park; and
2.That the Board of County Commissioners convey to the State Highway Department that the County is not interested in selling any portions of Meyers Ranch Park to the State to be used to replace Denver Mountain Park land for the portion of Newton Park needed for the widening of State Highway 285; and
WHEREAS, the Jefferson County Board of County Commissioners concurs with the following findings made by the Open Space Advisory Committee on January 3, 1991:

l.That the Open Space Proposal No. OS89-91 is within the general purpose and intent of the Board of County Commissioner's Jefferson County Open Space Resolution, dated November 7, l972, and amended September 29, l980.
2.That such Proposal includes removal and replacement of the existing parking area at Meyers Ranch Park by the
State Highway Department.
3.That such Proposal includes a request to purchase land from Jefferson County that was acquired with Open Space funds for the following:
a.The intersection improvement; and
b.To replace land needed for the widening of the Highway from Denver Mountain Parks in the area of Newton Park.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Jefferson County Board of County Commissioners, of the County of Jefferson, State of Colorado approves negotiations for the relocation and redevelopment of the existing parking area and the sale and/or trade of property required for the widening of State Highway 285 through Meyers Ranch Park.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners approves signature of the attached letter addressed to the Department of Highways stating that the County is not interested in selling any portions of Meyers Ranch Park to the State to be used to replace Denver Mountain Park land for the portion of Newton Park needed for the widening of State Highway 285.
Commissioner Ferdinandsen seconded the adoption of the foregoing Resolution. The roll having been called, the vote was as follows:

The Resolution was adopted by unanimous vote of the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Jefferson, State of Colorado.
