@@Commissioner Stone moved that the following Resolution be adopted:
BEFORE THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
OF THE COUNTY OF JEFFERSON
PUBLIC WORKS - OPEN SPACE - JEWELL ACRES/WHITE FENCE FARM/LAKEWOOD (OS92-31)
WHEREAS, Lynn Wodell, Manager of Acquisitions, did present to the Jefferson County Open Space Advisory Committee an Open Space Proposal on May 21, 1992, said proposal being No. OS92-31; and
WHEREAS, on June 18, 1992, during a regularly scheduled meeting, the Jefferson County Open Space Advisory Committee reviewed Open Space Proposal Number OS92-31; and
WHEREAS, the Jefferson County Open Space Advisory Committee, by a unanimous vote, nine (9) voting yes, 0 voting no, and 0 abstaining from a vote on the question, did, on July 2, 1992, by
Resolution Number 62-92, recommend that the Board of County Commissioners (the "Board") approve such Proposal for a title commitment, environmental hazard assessment, appraisal, survey and negotiations for the acquisition of 50-60 acres, more or less, as set forth in said Proposal subject to certain terms and conditions; and
WHEREAS, a majority of the Jefferson County Open Space Advisory Committee present personally inspected the proposed lands on a drive-by field trip, and believe this to be a high priority acquisition; and
WHEREAS, the Board has considered the above-referenced recommendation and concurs with the Open Space Advisory Committee findings:
1.That the Open Space Proposal No. OS92-31 falls within the criteria, intent and purpose set forth in the current 1989 Jefferson County Open Space Master Plan;
2.That the Open Space Proposal No. OS92-31 is within the general purpose and intent of the Board of County Commissioners Jefferson County Open Space Resolution, dated the 7th day of November, 1972, and amended September 29,1980;
3.That the proposed land is highly desirable open space that would help meet some of the park, open space, and recreational needs of the residents of Jefferson County;
4.That the location of the above referenced property would be suitable for:
(a)Future active recreation site and community park site, including ball fields;
(b)Preservation of wetlands, lakes, riparian vegetation and wildlife habitat; and
(c)Trail corridor along Sanderson Gulch;
5.That the above referenced property consists of approximately 50-60 acres, more or less, located on West Jewell Avenue between Depew and Pierce;
6.That the Jefferson County Open Space Department, the City of Lakewood and the Foothills Park and Recreation District support this acquisition based on all three master plans.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board hereby and herewith approves obtaining a title commitment, environmental hazard assessment, appraisal, survey and negotiations for the acquisition of 50-60 acres, more or less, as is set forth in said Proposal subject to the following terms and conditions:
1.That the 50-60 acres, more or less, thereof be considered for acquisition;
2,That the cost of acquisition shall be 100% from Jefferson County's attributable share of the Open Space Fund;
3.That the future uses of the property, if acquired, will include active recreation; and
4.That, if acquired, the property will be deeded to the City of Lakewood for maintenance, development and management.
Commissioner Ferdinandsen seconded the adoption of the foregoing Resolution. The roll having been called, the vote was as follows:

The Resolution was adopted by unanimous vote of the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Jefferson, State of Colorado.
