@@Commissioner Ferdinandsen moved that the following Resolution be adopted:

BEFORE THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS

OF THE COUNTY OF JEFFERSON

STATE OF COLORADO

RESOLUTION NO. CC92-855

RE: SUPPORT FOR JEFFERSON COUNTY R-1 SCHOOL DISTRICT

BOND ISSUE

WHEREAS, our system of public education sets our country apart from the world and has been a major factor in securing the United States' rise to greatness on the world scene; and

WHEREAS, Jefferson County taxpayers have $800 million invested in public school facilities; and

WHEREAS, the quality of schools directly affects the quality of life in Jefferson County; and

WHEREAS, existing school buildings in the County are in need of repair and renovation; and

WHEREAS, the growing student population within Jefferson County requires additional classrooms so that students are not housed in substandard conditions; and

WHEREAS, the Jefferson County R-1 School District has a two-part bond issue before the voters on October 6, 1992 seeking approval for the renovation, repair, and construction of needed school facilities.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners, County of Jefferson, State of Colorado hereby and herewith expresses its support for passage of Part 1 and Part 2 of the school bond issue and urges all Jefferson County residents to join in voting "for" both parts on October 6, 1992.

Commissioner Clement seconded the adoption of the foregoing Resolution. The roll having been called, the vote was as follows:

Commissioner Rich Ferdinandsen AYE

Commissioner John P. Stone ABSENT

Commissioner Marjorie E. Clement, Chairman AYE

The Resolution was adopted by majority vote of the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Jefferson, State of Colorado.
