@@Commissioner Stone moved that the following Resolution be adopted:

BEFORE THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS

OF THE COUNTY OF JEFFERSON

STATE OF COLORADO

RESOLUTION NO. CC92-1008

RE: CONTINGENCY EXPENDITURE - CORONER

WHEREAS, on the 12th day of December, 1991, the Board of County Commissioners adopted Resolution No. CC91-1031, adopting the 1992 calendar year budget for Jefferson County; and

WHEREAS, the Coroner has incurred unanticipated expenses due to an unforeseeably large increase in the number of autopsies required in the last two months of the year; and

WHEREAS, funding of expenses incurred due to the additional autopsies is an emergency not reasonably foreseeable at the time of adoption of the budget; and

WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners in the adoption of its 1992 budget established a Contingency Fund for the purpose of meeting unforeseen contingencies such as this; and

WHEREAS, adequate funds currently exist in the Contingency Fund to provide additional funds for use by the Coroner.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners, County of Jefferson, State of Colorado, hereby and herewith declares that the need for additional funds for autopsies and related expenses of the Coroner is necessary and appropriate to properly transact the business of the Coroner's office, constitutes an emergency which the Board of County Commissioners could not have reasonably foreseen at the time of the adoption of the budget, and authorizes the expenditure of $20,000 from the Contingency Fund to fund additional autopsies and related expenses of the Coroner.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a certified copy of this Resolution be filed with the Division of Local Government in the Department of Local Affairs by the Director of Administrative Services.

Commissioner Clement seconded the adoption of the foregoing Resolution. The roll having been called, the vote was as follows:

Commissioner John P. Stone AYE

Commissioner Rich Ferdinandsen ABSENT

Commissioner Marjorie E. Clement, Chairman AYE

The Resolution was adopted by majority vote of the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Jefferson, State of Colorado.
