Commissioner Laura moved that the following Resolution be adopted:

BEFORE THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS

OF THE COUNTY OF JEFFERSON

STATE OF COLORADO

RESOLUTION NO. CC96-306

RE: SHERIFF - INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE COUNTY OF JEFFERSON, AND WEST METRO FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT

Resolved, that the Board of County Commissioners hereby approves the Intergovernmental Agreement between the Sheriff’s Department and the West Metro Fire Protection District. The IGA sets forth under what conditions the Sheriff will allow Fire District Employees to be Peace Officers, Level II, in accordance with State Statutes. This appointment will allow Fire District Employees to investigate criminal acts relating to Arson and Fire Code violations, and file those cases as well as issue summonses.

Commissioner Stone seconded the adoption of the foregoing Resolution. The roll having been called, the vote was as follows:

Commissioner Gary D. Laura AYE

Commissioner Betty J. Miller ABSENT

Commissioner John P. Stone, Chairman AYE

The Resolution was adopted by majority vote of the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Jefferson, State of Colorado.
