Commissioner Laura moved that the following Resolution be adopted:
BEFORE THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
OF THE COUNTY OF JEFFERSON
WHEREAS, the Jefferson County Planning and Zoning Department has proposed certain amendments to definitions in the Jefferson County Zoning Resolution that pertain to open space, landscaping, screening and buffering; and
WHEREAS, the purpose of said amendments is to clarify usage of various terms, to make the treatment of landscaped areas and open space more uniform and predictable, and to make the definitions more consistent with actual usage; and
WHEREAS, the Jefferson County Planning Commission has reviewed the proposed amendments and has recommended approval of the definitions as revised in the Planning Commission resolution dated July 10, 1996; and
WHEREAS, notice of hearing on the proposed amendments was published in The Golden Transcript on August 30, 1996; and
WHEREAS, based on the recommendations of the Jefferson County Planning Commission, comments of the Jefferson County Planning Department, comments of public officials and agencies, and testimony and written comments from all interested parties, this Board finds as follows:
1. That proper publication and public notice was provided as required by law for the hearing before the Board of County Commissioners of Jefferson County.
2. That the hearings before the Planning Commission and the Board of County Commissioners were extensive and complete, that all pertinent facts, matters and issues were submitted and all interested parties were heard at those hearings.

3. That the proposed amendments to the Jefferson County Zoning Resolution as set forth in the attached Exhibit A are in the best interest of the health, safety, morals, convenience, order, prosperity and welfare of the residents of Jefferson County.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Jefferson, State of Colorado hereby and herewith approves the Zoning Resolution Amendments to Section 1 regarding Open Space and Landscape Area definitions.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that these amendments shall take effect immediately and shall apply to all land in unincorporated Jefferson County unless they conflict with existing provisions in any recorded Official Development Plan.
Commissioner Miller seconded the adoption of the foregoing Resolution. The roll having been called, the vote was as follows:

The Resolution was adopted by unanimous vote of the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Jefferson, State of Colorado.
