Commissioner Holloway moved that the following Resolution be adopted:
BEFORE THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
OF THE COUNTY OF JEFFERSON
STATE OF COLORADO

WHEREAS, Congress has enacted the Americans with Disabilities Act ("ADA") which provides for comprehensive civil rights protection to individuals with disabilities in the areas of employment, public accommodations, state and local government services, and telecommunications; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Justice has enacted certain rules and regulations to implement subtitle A of Title II of the ADA, which applies to state and local governments; and
WHEREAS, those responsibilities shall include investigation of any complaint communicated to the County alleging the County's noncompliance with Part 35 of the rules and regulations; and
WHEREAS, by Resolution No. CC92-679, Terry Green, Director of Administrative Services, was designated to coordinate the County's efforts under 28 C.F.R. Part 35.
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners wishes to designate Suzanne Comcowich, EEO/ADA Specialist, to coordinate the County's efforts under 28 C.F.R. Part 35.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Jefferson, State of Colorado, hereby and herewith designates Suzanne Comcowich, EEO/ADA Specialist, to coordinate the County's efforts to comply with and carry out the County's responsibilities under 28 C.F.R. Part 35 which rules and regulations implement subtitle A of Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act.
Commissioner Stone seconded the adoption of the foregoing Resolution. The roll having been called, the vote was as follows:

The Resolution was adopted by unanimous vote of the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Jefferson, State of Colorado.
