Commissioner Stone moved that the following Resolution be adopted:

OF THE COUNTY OF JEFFERSON

STATE OF COLORADO

RE: BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS - APPLICATIONS FOR STATE EMS GRANTS

Resolved that the Board of County Commissioners hereby approves and authorizes signature of a letter recommending that the grant proposal for communication equipment as described below be funded in full under the 1998 Grant Program of the EMS Division of the State Department of Health. The purpose of this proposal is to fund Jefferson County's conversion from an existing V.H.F. radio network to an 800 MHZ digital trunked network requesting a total dollar amount of $196,750.00 from the State.

Two other applications from local EMS providers seeking monies under the 1998 Grant Program are not supported at this time.

The Source of these funds is a special account of the State Highway Users Tax Fund set up for distribution to local EMS providers by the State Department of Health to improve and coordinate EMS services. No County funds are involved.

Commissioner Lawrence seconded the adoption of the foregoing Resolution. The roll having been called, the vote was as follows:

The Resolution was adopted by majority vote of the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Jefferson, State of Colorado.
