Victim Impact Statements
The Colorado statutes provide that all victims of a crime against a person are entitled to fill out a Victim Impact Statement and to speak at sentencing. A Victim Impact Statement enables the victim to tell the Judge how he/she feels about being victimized by the defendant. The crime victim can let the Judge know how he/she would like the defendant to be sentenced.
