The Crime Victim Compensation Program provides funds to pay for medical expenses, therapy, loss of income, and burial expenses for victims of violent crime. The money comes from fines assessed to convicted defendants and is distributed by a three-member board of citizens from the community. The program is administered by the DA's Office and also covers replacement of repair of doors, windows, locks or other security devices on residential property.
