Cafeteria Manager at Jefferson High School Arrested

Jefferson County District Attorney investigators arrested 51-year-old Michelle Lynn Whitmire, Golden, on January 13 on suspicion of distribution of marijuana and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Whitmire is suspected of providing marijuana to teenage friends of her daughter. Investigators went to Whitmire’s Golden home at 17190 Mount Vernon Road, on January 9, on an unrelated issue, and discovered three teens in the home and the strong odor of marijuana.

According to the arrest affidavit, one of the teens said that Whitmire has a medical marijuana license and that there was marijuana in the house. He also said that she “…gives it (marijuana) to all the kids.”

Whitmire is employed by the Jefferson County School District as the cafeteria manager at Jefferson High School. She has worked for the School District since 2006. District officials say that she has been placed on paid administrative leave.

Whitmire was booked into the Jefferson County jail on January 13 and posted $10,000 bond later that day. She is scheduled to appear in court on January 24 at 10:00.
