    Arrest In Fatal Shooting In Edgewater


    Floyd Anthony Sandoval, Jr., DOB: 2-26-90, has been arrested on suspicion of First Degree Murder in the death of 41-year-old John Goggin. Sandoval appeared in Jefferson County Court earlier today where he was advised of his rights and the charges for which he is being held.

    On October 17, 2013 Edgewater Police were called to John Goggin’s home at 2555 Sheridan Blvd. on a report of a possible shooting. Police found Mr. Goggin suffering from what appeared to be a gunshot wound. John Goggin died a few hours later at the hospital.

    Sandoval was one of two men who are alleged to have been at John Goggin’s home around the time he suffered the fatal injury.

    The Edgewater Police Department requested the assistance of the Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office in this investigation. The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, the Westminster Police Department and the Wheat Ridge Police Department are all providing assistance.

    Investigators are still asking for help in identifying the man shown the in attached photos. They are also seeking information about the green or blue 2004-2007 model Kia Sorento shown in the attached photos.

    Anyone who might have information about this case is asked to call investigators with the District Attorney’s Office at 303-886-3568.

    Sandoval is scheduled to be advised of any charges which may be filed against him on October 25 at 10:00. He is being held without bond at the Jefferson County Detention Center.
