Bank Employee Pleads Guilty to Theft

Autumn Rene Guillot, 30, of Central City, was in Gilpin County District Court last week where she pled guilty to stealing over $250,000 from the Black Hawk branch of the Credit Union of the Rockies.

Guillot was employed as assistant branch manager at the Credit Union of the Rockies during 2011 when the theft occurred. Guillot was one of two full-time employees in this small branch of the Credit Union of the Rockies.

Bank officials became suspicious and contacted Black Hawk Police in November 2011 when an unannounced “spot” audit uncovered discrepancies in their ledger. Two deposits listed in the branch’s general ledger had not been received by the clearinghouse. This ledger was maintained by Autumn Guillot.

Guillot entered a guilty to one count of Theft over $20,000 (F3) on March 1. Sentencing has been set for April 26 at 1:30 p.m. She could potentially face a prison sentence of 4 to 12 years.
