David Reathman Charged with First Degree Murder of his 70-year-old Wife

First Judicial District Attorney Peter Weir announced today that he has filed one count of first degree murder, and two violent crime counts, against David Wayne Reathman, 65, for the murder of his 70-year-old wife, Barbara. David Reathman was in Jefferson County Court this morning to be advised of the charges. Reathman is accused of killing his 70-year-old wife, Barbara Reathman, at their Golden home.

Golden Police were called to the Reathman home at 431 Zeta Street, in Golden, on a welfare check on March 25. Barbara Reathman was found dead inside their home. David Reathman was not at the house and appeared to be missing. Three days later Reathman turned himself in to the Golden Police Department.

He is currently being held without bond. His next court date is a motions hearing on April 18. A preliminary hearing has been set for May 30 at 8:30 AM.
