    Investigators Seek Assistance In Fatal Shooting in Edgewater


    Investigators are asking for the public’s help in identifying a possible witness to a fatal shooting that occurred in Edgewater on October 17, 2013.

    In the afternoon of October 17, Edgewater Police were called to a house at 2555 Sheridan Blvd. on a report of a possible shooting. Police found a man inside the residence that appeared to be seriously injured as the result of a possible gunshot wound. Investigators believe that the gunshot wound was not self-inflicted.

    The injured man was transported to the hospital where he was later pronounced dead. He has not been identified, pending notification of his next of kin.

    The Edgewater Police Department requested the assistance of the Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office in this investigation. The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, the Westminster Police Department and the Wheat Ridge Police Departments are all providing assistance.

    Investigators have photos that may be helpful in their investigation. They would like to talk to the man shown in the photos wearing a hat. He may be associated with a green or blue 2004-2007 model Kia Sportage.
