Man Suspected of Assault on Littleton Teen in Court Today

Xavier Sebastian McDaniel, 21, of Littleton, had his first court appearance today in Jefferson County. McDaniel was arrested by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office for suspicion of burglary and sexual assault of a 15-year-old teen in southern Jefferson County.

On April 4, McDaniel is alleged to have walked into the teen’s home in the middle of the afternoon and then attacked and attempted to sexually assault her.

Sheriff investigators immediately began an intensive investigation, and with the public’s help, arrested McDaniel on April 6.

An investigator from the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office was present at the advisement and told Judge Ryan Stuart that McDaniel is alleged to have attacked and attempted to sexually assault the 15-year-old teen using his fists and a knife in the attack, repeatedly striking the girl in the face and head. The assault caused serious injuries to the teen, including subdural hematoma, multiple abrasions, bruises and cuts.

Judge Stuart ordered that McDaniel’s bond be set in the amount of $1M, cash or surety, with the conditions that should he post bond he would be supervised by Pretrial Services, ordered to have no contact with this victim or anyone under the age of 18, be ordered to wear a GPS ankle monitor, have no guns, and no alcohol or drug consumption.

McDaniel is scheduled to be back in court on April 12, at 10:00 for advisement of charges.
