(Golden, CO – November 7, 2013) First Judicial District Attorney Pete Weir announced that a 39-year-old Broomfield man has been charged with child trafficking, pandering and pimping of a child. Robert Felix Gonzales was arrested on October 31 and faces the following charges:

Beginning in 2011, Gonzales is accused of sexually assaulting an underaged female he met through a foster placement. Continuing into 2012 and 2013, he is accused of giving her drugs and alcohol and forcing her to have sex with people she did not know. Payment for the sexual encounter was made in cash, or in exchange for methamphetamie, and was given to Gonzales. The girl was 14-16 years of age during this time.

According to court records, Gonzales would advertise on CraigsList to find people to have sex with the teen. He would then arrange for meetings in motel rooms with these people for the purpose of child prostitution.

This was a joint investigation between the Arvada Police Department, Denver Police Department, and the FBI Rocky Mountain Innocence Loss Task Force.

Gonzales is being held in the Jefferson County Detention Center on a $500,000 cash bond. His preliminary hearing has been set for December 5 at 1:30 in Division F.
