    Senior Law Day in Jeffco


    The Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office is hosting its 3rd Annual Senior Law Day on June 1, offering educational seminars for seniors and for adults who may be facing challenges with their aging parents.

    There are 15 valuable workshops, including topics such as: investment fraud; tips for elder abuse; end of life issues; powers-of-attorneys, conservatorship and guardianship; reverse mortgages; and identity theft. Attorneys and representatives from a variety of community resources will be available to answer individual questions.

    “Jefferson County’s population is aging and older adults will be facing complicated issues,” says District Attorney Peter Weir, “The information we are providing can change the quality of life for seniors and their adult children.”

    Senior Law Day is Saturday, June 1, from 7:30 a.m. - 2 p.m., at the Arvada Covenant Church, 5555 Ward Road, in Arvada. CBS4 Anchor Jim Benemann will serve as emcee for the day.

    Registration is $10 and includes a continental breakfast, lunch, and the new Colorado Senior Law Handbook, a publication of the Colorado Bar Association. The Joe Peterson Orchestra & the JPO Andrews Singers will entertain during lunch. Payment must made by check, credit card or money order.
