    Christopher Sullivan Charged in Crime Spree on Lookout Mountain


    (Golden, CO – August 6, 2014) Christopher David Sullivan, DOB: 6-28-77, was in court on July 30th where he was advised of the 46 charges that have been filed against him. Sullivan was arrested following a sequence of events that included three carjackings and the felony menacing of numerous individuals on Lookout Mountain in unincorporated Jefferson County.

    On July 23, 2014 at 2:30 p.m. Jefferson County Sheriff's deputies contacted Christopher Sullivan in the Lookout Mountain area of unincorporated Jefferson County. Deputies had concerns about the information they received when they checked his drivers' license and the registration information of the vehicle. They asked Mr. Sullivan to wait in the car. Mr. Sullivan disobeyed officers and sped away, down the side of the mountain. He and his 17-year-old passenger abandoned their car and headed out on foot.

    Shortly afterwards, deputies learned that Mr. Sullivan was armed and the search was on. A televeision news camera was in the area. Communication between the television station and law enforcement assisted deputies in tracking Mr. Sullivan’s movement along the mountainside. During this time he is alleged to have stolen three cars, one of which he is stole from a family four at gunpoint, and threatened other individuals at gunpoint. According to the charging document there were 15 individual victims and three businesses (owners of the vehicles involved). One of the businesses was the Jefferson County government as Mr. Sullivan is accused of attempted to steal one or more of their parked construction trucks.

    Mr. Sullivan was arrested following a short chase by a lone sheriff’s deputy across the lanes of Interstate 70.

    At his first appearance the court was told that Mr. Sullivan had five warrants outstanding for his arrest, three in Jefferson County and two in Sheridan.

    The 17-year-old female who was with Sullivan during this effort to flee has been charged as a juvenile with 23 counts. She is being held on $50,000 cash/surety bond.

    Sullivan has charged with the following 46 counts;

    13 counts Menacing with deadly weapon (F5)
    1 count First Degree Burglary (F3)
    1 counts Second Degree Burg (F3)
    1 count Identity Theft (F4)
    1 count Criminal Impersonation (F6)
    1 count Criminal Mischief (F4)
    1 count Contribution to Delinquency of a Minor (F4)
    1 count Possession of Controlled Substance (DF4)
    2 counts Possession Weapon by Previous Offender (F6)
    1 count Special Offender (sentence enhancer)
    6 counts Crime of Violence (sentence enhancer)
    1 count Resisting Arrest (M2)
    1 count Obstructing a Peace Officer (M2)

    Mr. Sullivan’s preliminary hearing has been set for August 28 at 1:00. He is being held at the Jefferson County Detention Center on a $1M cash bond.
