Former Firefighter Sentenced for 5 years Sex Offender Probation

Ronald Michael Asciutto, 60, was sentenced to five years Sex Offender Intensive Supervision Probation on January 21 for going to meet someone he believed was an underage female child for the purpose of sexual contact.

In June, 2013 the former firefighter was arrested by Jefferson County District Attorney Investigators when he showed up to meet the person he believed to be an underage female child for the purpose of sexual contact. The teen was actually an undercover DA investigator.

An investigator with the DA’s Child Sex Offender Internet Investigations (CHEEZO) Unit was online portraying himself as an under age child when he was contacted online by Asciutto. The communication from Asciutto quickly became sexually graphic. The communication was primarily by text messaging.

In addition to the sexually graphic language, Asciutto asked the person he believed to be an under-aged teen to send him naked pictures of herself. He also asked to meet with the person he believed to be an under-aged teen for the purpose of sexual contact.

Ascuitto pled guilty to Attempted Sexual Assault of a Child on November 12, 2013. He must register as a sex offender
