District Attorney to be recognized as Elected Official of the Year at Senior Heroes Event

First Judicial District Attorney Pete Weir is being recognized as the 2017 Senior Heroes Elected Official of the Year by the Jefferson County Council on Aging and Seniors’ Resource Center.

Each year the Jefferson County Council on Aging and Seniors’ Resource Center hold the Senior Heroes Award event to honor an Elected Official of the Year and Senior Heroes Volunteers. Weir is being recognized for his tireless work on behalf of seniors and for keeping issues that affect seniors high on his list of priorities in the District Attorney’s Office.

Senior heroes are a priceless resource in our community. You see them at schools, in hospitals, at libraries, animal shelters, and many other paces. They cheerfully donate their time and energy, asking nothing in return. The Senior Heroes Award recognition event helps shine the spotlight on a few of these vital members of our community.

“Providing justice for our most vulnerable citizens is one of the most important thing we do in the District Attorney’s Office,” said Weir, “From prosecutors who are trained in the unique issues facing seniors, to crime prevention programs aimed at keeping seniors safe, we are committed to protecting older adults.”

The Senior Heroes is open to the public on May, 11, 2017 at 2:30 p.m., at Mountain Vista Senior Living Community, 4800 Tabor Street in Wheat Ridge.
