Voting By Mail
Election Information (Please check the website in April for specific election information.)
Voting by mail is available to all Colorado voters. A reason for requesting a ballot by mail is not required.
- Ballots are mailed approximately 22-18 days before the election.
- Ballots can be returned by mail or in person at any one of the Jefferson County drop-off locations (before/by) 7:00 p.m. Election Night.
THERE ARE DIFFERENT OPTIONS FOR VOTING BY MAIL-
Please consider the following options. You will be asked to choose one when completing the request for a mail ballot:

Your name will be added to the Permanent Mail-in voter list (PMIV).

| A ballot will be mailed to you at your mailing address (if one is stated) or residential address for every election in which you are eligible. |
All ballots for the calendar year of the request are mailed to you at the address that you specify on the request. If you do not specify an address, the ballot will be mailed to your residential or mailing address. |
This option is used when you want your ballot sent to an address that is not your residential or mailing address but you do not want to permanently change your mailing address for that election. You will be asked to provide the address when completing the form.

You can also download the form from this site or you may send a letter that includes your:
- Printed name
- Residential address
- Mailing address (if different form your residence)
- Date of Birth
- Signature and
- A statement requesting a ballot
Ballot requests must be received at the county clerk’s office no later than the close of business seven (7) days before the election if the ballot is to be mailed. If you wish to pick the ballot up in person the deadline is the close of business on the Friday immediately before the election. Date and deadline information about a specific election will be posted on our website in the months leading up to the election.
