2012 Primary Election voter information cards in the mail

(Golden) – County Clerk and Recorder Pam Anderson announced today that voters should expect updated 2012 voter information cards to arrive in their mailboxes over the course of the next week. The card contains information regarding your voter registration, new voting districts as a result of redistricting, Service Center locations and mail-in ballot drop-off locations for the Primary Mail Ballot Election. The voter information card is being sent to prepare Jefferson County voters for the June 26 Primary Election, which is earlier this year than it has been in previous years.

“We like to get this mailing out to voters early because it gives us an opportunity to provide them with information regarding their new voting districts as well as Primary Election information. This can help to improve overall awareness,” Anderson said. “It provides quite a bit of information for voters, so it’s something they should definitely keep an eye out for, and hold onto once they get it,” she added.

Voters who have not signed up for permanent mail-in ballot status will be provided with an application as part of this mailing. If they would like to become a permanent mail-in voter, or just apply for a mail ballot for the Presidential Election in November, all they need to do is fill out the application and send it back in. There are already more than 200,000 permanent mail-in voters in Jefferson County, and this number is expected to continue to rise as many voters capitalize on the convenience of mail-in voting.
“This is another great opportunity for voters to sign up to have a paper ballot delivered by mail for all future Jefferson County elections,” said Anderson. “It gives them another chance to vote from the convenience of home.”
