(Golden) – Results for the 2012 Presidential Election will be posted on the Jefferson County Clerk and Recorder’s website at VoteJeffco.com. By visiting the site, anyone with Internet access can view detailed reports of the Presidential Election results for each race as ballots are being counted on Election Night, November 6, 2012. This reporting system was first implemented in Jefferson County in 2008 and has received praise from the public, campaigns and members of the media for its transparency and the level of detail it provides.
It has been so successful that the Secretary of State’s Office has adopted the same system used in Jefferson County to display election night results for the entire state.
“We’re very proud of our election night reporting system and we’re encouraged that the State has adopted the Jefferson County model to report results to all of Colorado’s voters,” said Jefferson County Clerk and Recorder Pam Anderson.
Anderson says the site will be updated approximately every twenty to forty minutes on Election Night, beginning with the first set of results from mail-in and early voting posted shortly after the close of polls, between 7 and 7:30 p.m.
“We are very pleased to provide this level of transparency to our citizens aimed at further strengthening voter confidence in the conduct of elections here in Jeffco,” said Anderson.
