New Director of Elections named in Jeffco

    February 2, 2014 --

Christi Coburn joins the Elections Division after more than 18 years of public service at the Secretary of State's Office and Teller County.

“It is my great pleasure to announce that after a very competitive recruitment process we have selected Christi Coburn to be the permanent Director of Elections for the Jefferson County Elections Division,” said Jefferson County Clerk Pam Anderson. “The diversity of her experience and management expertise will be a wonderful complement to our department.”

Coburn brings 18 years of public service experience with her to Jefferson County. During the past eight years at the Colorado Secretary of State's office, Coburn led the Campaign Finance Team, Election Official Training Team, Voter Registration and Accessibility Compliance programs, and most recently, Coburn oversaw the Voting Equipment Certification and Support Team. Before that, Coburn served ten years in Teller County as the Motor Vehicle Supervisor and then as the Chief Deputy, the position responsible for elections.

In 2013, Coburn received the National Association of Secretaries of State Medallion Award for her efforts assisting Teller County, during the fire-plagued Primary Election.  She earned an Advanced Certificate in Public Administration and is in the process of achieving the Certified Elections and Registration Administrator (CERA) federal certificate.
Coburn said, “I’m thrilled for the opportunity to join such a professional division with long-standing excellence in Colorado elections.”
