The Finance & IT Department oversees a number of centralized functions including Accounting, Payroll & Purchasing, Budget & Risk Management, and IT Services.
Accounting includes payroll, purchasing and general accounting such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, debt administration, sales tax analysis and external financial reporting including the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR). Accounting directly interacts with the audit committee and the external auditors.
The Budget function facilitates the budget process for the county and provides financial management and analytical support to the elected officials and departments.
Risk Management manages the services for workers compensation, general liability and the safety program.
IT Services provides the information technology and management services for county wide systems such as phone, email, electronic content management, human resource and financial management, and specialty software for various county organizations. IT Services collaborates with IT teams and other county elected officials' organizations that focus on their specific business needs.
IT Services also manages the county's historical archives and records management for long-term storage of county records.
