Fleet Services acquires and maintains vehicles and equipment for most county divisions.

Usage Fees & Billing
Fleet's rates include fuel, maintenance, and a monthly lease charge. The maintenance rate is calculated on the number of meters (miles/hours) driven for the type or class of vehicle. The lease rate is a monthly fixed cost.

Each division receives a monthly bill detailing their vehicle usage. Motor pool charges, parts supplies, and direct charges are not included in the basic rate, but appear on the monthly billing statement.

How the County Buys New Vehicles
A portion of the usage fees goes toward the vehicle's replacement fund so the money is available when it is time to purchase a new vehicle.

Annually, Fleet assesses the county's vehicle and equipment inventory - considering the age, condition, and mileage of each unit - and drafts a recommended vehicle replacement list. Once the replacement list is approved, the ordering process begins.
