Air Quality - Indoor Air

The Air Quality Control Section offers basic indoor air quality (IAQ) investigations to the citizens of the county.

These investigations include:

  • "tight" buildings
  • "sick" buildings
  • building related illnesses

If you suspect carbon monoxide poisoning, or other potentially life-threatening situations, leave the building and call 911 immediately!

The following links offer some indoor air quality guidelines:

Radon test kits are available at our office for $10.00. These kits are short-term devices which you mail in for analysis.

For many years the Department has conducted radon sampling and analysis through grants from the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment.  Here is a summary of the Department work for 2008-2009. Data Analysis 2011 - 2012>>

Call 303-271-5700 for more information or email John Moody at jmoody@jeffco.us

Indoor air quality is important to the health of all citizens of the county, since
most people spend up to
90% of their time indoors.
