| Every individual sewage disposal system is a potential source of groundwater pollution. The ISDS Use Permit Program will assure that it operates properly before being passed on to a new owner.
As of January 1, 2004, owners of most Jefferson County properties with individual sewage disposal systems (ISDS) must have those systems inspected (by an approved Use Permit Inspector) and approved by the Jefferson County Public Health (JCPH) prior to the sale or major remodeling of the property. |
