  • April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month

    Jefferson County Human Services invites you to play a part in National Child Abuse Prevention Month by participating in various activities and fundraisers throughout the month to raise awareness and to report any concerns of child abuse or neglect in our community. All donations collected will go to support Ralston House, a child advocacy center helping children and teens who are victims of sexual or physical abuse. Join in supporting these efforts by participating in the activities listed below:

    April 10 - JAMBA JUICE smoothies will be available in the Human Services Building at 10:00 am, $4.00 each.

    April 16 - BREAKFAST BURRITOS will be available in the Human Services Building at 8:00 am, $3.00 each or two for $5.00.

    April 22, 23 & 24 - LIL RICCI'S PIZZA will be donating 20% of the sales on these dates.  Just mention "Ralston House" to the wait staff.


    Child Protection



    Child Protection investigates allegations and provides protective services to children and youth who are at-risk or are victims of child abuse or neglect. Jefferson County uses family centered practices to provide services and support for the children, youth and families in the child welfare system.

    Reporting Child Abuse/Neglect Concerns

    When you contact us, please provide as much of the following information as possible in regard to the child(ren) you are concerned about. The information is important to ensure the safety and welfare of the individuals involved.

    • Child's full name
    • Age
    • Date of birth
    • Ethnicity or race
    • Parents’ full names
    • Family's valid home address
    • Family's phone number
    • Specific concerns of abuse/neglect
