  • Child Care Assistance Program 

    What is CCAP?

    The Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP) provides financial assistance to eligible low-income families who need child care benefits for children from birth to age 12 or children with additional care needs under the age of 19. If you are eligible, a portion of the total child care cost will be paid directly to the provider. You will be required to pay a portion of the child care costs to the provider based on family size and income.

    Effective July 3, 2017, Jefferson County CCAP will institute a Wait List.

    Families living in Jefferson County, meeting the program income guidelines who are:

    • Teen Parents
    • Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) participants 
    • Experiencing homelessness or have a child(ren) enrolled in Head Start 


    Will be exempt from placement on the wait list. If you meet the criteria above, there are two ways to apply:


    are accepted at the Laramie Building (3500 Illinois Street, Golden, CO):

    • Monday - Thursday 8:30am - 4pm
    • Tuesdays 8:30am - 8pm

    How do I get on the wait list?

    First you must meet the following criteria to be on the wait list: 

    • Jefferson County resident, and
    • Employed at least 30hrs per week, or
    • Attending post-secondary education or vocational training  


    Then, complete the Wait List Screening Form

    Submit the completed Wait List Screening Form by:

    • Fax: 303-271-4447, or
    • In person-/by mail to

    We will contact you by mail of your status on the wait list.  When space is available, you will be notified by mail regarding next steps.
