Re: Green Mountain Students Appear on Charges Involving Drug Alleged to be Morphine

Five of the six Green Mountain High School students accused of being involved in the sale and possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance incident in December 2005, appeared today in the Jefferson County Juvenile Court. The sixth student charged had previously been advised and is set for pre-trial conference. This was the first court appearance for the other five, and was an advisement only.

Because they are juveniles, their names will not be provided.

  • One 14-year-old female student was charged with two counts of Distribution of a Controlled Substance.  She has a pre-trial conference set for 2/22 at 3:30 in Division Q.
  • One 15-year-old female student was charged with Distribution of a Controlled Substance and two counts of Possession of one gram or less of a Controlled Substance.  She has a pre-trial conference set for 2/8 at 8:15 in Division Q.
  • One 14-year-old female student was charged with Distribution of a Controlled Substance and one count of Possession of over one gram of a Controlled Substance.  Her pretrial conference is set for 2/22 at 2:30 in Division Q.
  • Two of the teens, both 16 years old, have been charged with one count each of Possession of one gram or less of a Controlled Substance. One 15-year-old has been charged with two counts of Possession of one gram or less of a Controlled Substance.

The first three students' next appearance dates are provided because they have been charged with what would be a class three felony if they were adults being charged for the same crime.  Distribution of a Schedule II Controlled Substance is a class 3 felony. All six have been charged as juveniles.
