Court Services

Within the Justice Services Division, Court Services includes Community Services, a Non Residential and Residential Work Crew Program and Pretrial Services which includes Bond Commissioners/Pretrial Officers and Pretrial Services Supervision.

The Community Services unit helps alleviate jail crowding by supervising offenders sentenced to complete useful public service work. Adult and Juvenile offenders may perform useful public service on a supervised Non-Residential Work Crew. The weekend Residential Work Crew Program is for juveniles in lieu of detention or as an intermediate sanction.

The Pretrial Services unit interviews jailed arrestees, prepares reports to judicial officers on their bond eligibility, releases jailed arrestees and supervises defendants until they are adjudicated. 

Jefferson County Pretrial Services is currently participating in the Colorado Improving Supervised Pretrial Release (CISPR) grant project with nine other Colorado counties. This project involves the development of a validated and standardized pretrial risk assessment instrument and more effective strategies for pretrial supervision.
