Temporary Registrations
- Temporary Registrations may be issued for up to 60 days from date of purchse.
Requirements:
- Proof of purchase - One of the following documents required:
- Title properly signed to new owner
- Legal bill of sale & copy of previous owner's registration
- Must be Notarized -or-
- Signed under penalty of perjury
- Dealer Invoice / Dealer bill of sale
- Only acceptable if purchased from out of state dealer
- Proof of Insurance
- Must be Colorado coverage on the newly purchase vehicle
- Cannot be in the previous owner's name
- Insurance on an another vehicle NOT ACCEPTED
- Secure & Verifiable ID
- New owner (as listed on proof of purchase document) must be present with photo ID
- Only one (1) owner required to be present
- Applicable Sales Tax
- Beginning Jan 1, 2012 - Sales / Use tax (or proof of payment) will be required before a temporary registration will be issued

Temporary Registrations may be issued in other cases, but will generally only be issued for a period of 10 days or less. Contact us for the requirements and/or conditions.
Temporary Registrations cannot be issued to vehicles sold as "TOW AWAY" by a licensed Colorado Dealer.
