With Election Day quickly approaching, Jefferson County Clerk and Recorder Pam Anderson is encouraging Jeffco voters to cast their ballots early. ?We want to remind voters that Election Day is not your only chance to cast a ballot in this election. It is your last chance,? Anderson said.
The Clerk and Recorder?s Office has received over 220,000 applications from voters who want to receive their ballots in the mail. Those who have already received their ballots are encouraged to research the candidates and issues and, once decided, cast their ballots early, rather than waiting until Election Day. Ballots can be mailed to the County Clerk & Recorder or hand-delivered to any of eleven drop-off locations throughout Jefferson County.

Mail-in ballot voters are also reminded that if you have applied for and received a mail-in ballot, you must vote that ballot. Mail-in ballot voters are not allowed to vote in person at Early Voting or at the precinct polling place on Election Day, unless they vote by provisional ballot.
There are also eight Early Voting locations throughout Jefferson County where registered voters, who have not applied for a mail-in ballot, can vote to avoid the rush on Election Day. Early Voting takes place through Friday, October 31, and is open Saturday, October 25, for voters who cannot make it to one of the sites during the week. Please visit www.votejeffco.com for Early Voting locations and times.
In the Presidential Election of 2004, over 158,000 Jefferson County voters took the opportunity to cast their ballots before Election Day.
