Voters who want to apply for a ballot to be delivered to them by the U.S. Mail for the 2008 Presidential Election have only one more day to do so. The deadline to apply for a mail-in ballot, if you want the ballot mailed to you, is Tuesday, October 28.
?In Jefferson County, we?ve already received more than 220,000 applications for mail-in ballots, which is great, but it?s not too late to take advantage of voting by mail,? said Jefferson County Clerk and Recorder Pam Anderson. ?Many voters like the convenience of casting their ballot early and avoiding the last minute rush on Election Day,? she added.
Voters wanting to apply for a mail-in ballot can get an application form by visiting www.votejeffco.com. Applications for mail-in ballots will be processed within 72 hours of receipt in order to give voters time to vote and return ballots prior to Election Day, November 4.
Mail-in voters can also track the status of their ballots at the votejeffco.com Web site. Ballot tracking information includes the date the application was processed, the date the ballot was mailed out from the Clerk and Recorder?s Office and the date the voted mail-in ballot was received and processed.
Voters who would like to pick up a mail-in ballot in person have until October 31. Ballots can be obtained by visiting the Elections Division of the Jefferson County Clerk and Recorder in the Administration and Courts Facility at 100 Jefferson County Parkway, Suite 2560, in Golden.
